FARclause gives you the greatest flexibility and control over how and what information you are pasting into the Web site; however, we caution you to not paste any classified, sensitive, controlled unclassified information, covered defense information, or other proprietary information into the Web site.

FARclause does not store any confidential or proprietary information since the input consists of information pasted from documents residing in the public domain (e.g. Beta.SAM.gov, NECO.mil, etc.) or the sections of the documents that are not subject to FOIA exemptions (e.g. Section I) and the output (e.g. analyses, sorting, organization, timelines, reporting requirements, and flow down recommendations) is derived from the full text of clauses and provisions posted on Acquisition,gov. In addition, as a prudent practice, all major federal contractors post similar information (e.g. corporate flow downs, flow downs by contract number, GSA schedules/OASIS contracts) on their public sites to gain efficiencies in their supply chain. FARclause.com contains a library of FAR and DFARS clauses that are in public domain. Those clauses are officially listed at https://www.acquisition.gov/ (FAR) and https://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/dars/dfarspgi/current/ (DFARS). In addition, FARclause allows users to create alias contract or solicitation numbers (e.g. RFP 1, Contract 1) if they don’t want to associate clauses with a specific contract/solicitation identified on public sources, and it also allows users to generate and download reports with FAR analyses to their own servers, deleting the record on FARclause altogether. 

FARclause does not extract or retain the following information:

• FARclause does not store any financial information on the site since we use a third-party provider to process all credit card payments and subscription information. Alternative to paying with a credit card on the site, we can generate an electronic invoice and send it to your email address if you would like to pay for a subscription by other means.
   
• FARclause doesn’t store any personally identifiable information (PII) as the only required information to access and use the site is your email address and the password (encrypted through SSL).
   
• FARclause neither stores copies of actual solicitations or contract documents nor does it retain any accompanying text pasted with FAR clauses as the site requires users to paste FAR clauses directly into the site using Copy & Paste hotkeys and our extracting algorithms only extract and retain the clause numbers, clause dates, and clause types (e.g. Basic, Alt I, Alt II), the three attributes that are then paired with the full text of the clauses. 
   
• FARclause does not scan any documents.
   
• FAR clause does not require users to upload any documents; instead, users paste the FAR clauses directly into the extracting window.  

In summary, FARclause’s algorithms are designed to only extract clause numbers from the text you are pasting. This information resides in the public domain.  FARclause discards all other information you are pasting with the text, and the text you are pasting into the site is presumed to also originate from the documents available in the public domain (e.g. solicitations on FBO.gov, prime contract awards, or corporate terms and conditions available on public sites). In addition, FARclause gives you the greatest flexibility and control over how and what information you are pasting into the site; however, we still must caution you to not paste any classified, sensitive, controlled unclassified information, or other proprietary information into the Web site.
